Fundraising Activities 2004-2005
We have enjoyed a steady year for income generation and have managed to secure new partnerships with corporate companies for the benefit of the scheme.
Many interesting and progressive things have happened for the Charity this year. Our ‘Secret Santa’ and ‘Easter Egg’ appeals were very successful, we also produced a DVD for the scheme, this was sponsored by a local grammar school and enables current and potential supporters and funders to have a visual framework of our charity, underpinned by a family case study.
Our new website went live during June:- www.homestartfsc.org.uk
We offered many children an opportunity to visit ‘Disneyland Paris’ to experience a three day magical trip, this took place during August. This was the first trip overseas for our Home-Start families and everyone involved had a wonderful time!
During 2005 we managed to source two patrons:-
Llewela Bailey (News Reader for Central Television) and Colin Dunn (Professional Dancer and Choreographer, please see ).
We are delighted that Llewela and Colin have agreed to represent our Charity and will ‘fly the flag’ for our cause.
We participated in Home-Start UK’s ‘Big Tea Party Campaign’ and held a party for many of the Home-Start children at the Botanical Gardens, this event was sponsored by a blue chip company in the West Midlands and was a huge success.
During the Summer of 2005 we worked very closely with a graphic designer, which enabled us to produce a whole new concept for our image and branding. The decision for our new look was made in order to reach the high levels of competition within the charitable sector and we were delighted with the outcome.
We held our first charity ball at the Hilton Metropole Hotel during October 2005. This event had a ‘Moulin Rouge’ theme and was attended by over 500 corporate guests, enabling us to raise in excess of £32,000.
Due to the huge success of the ‘Moulin Rouge Ball’, we are now in a fortunate position to purchase a much needed minibus for our scheme, this vehicle will be fully equipped vehicle and will enable us to facilitate many of our children who are wheelchair users. The minibus will have a variety of uses for the charity, including hospital visits and many trips and educational outings.
What a wonderful ending to a successful year!
We are always extremely grateful to all our wonderful supporters, this includes:-
Trust Funds, Foundations, Corporate Sector, Community Groups.
Please continue to support us as the need is always there for our Home-Start families.
We always need consistent support for or cause, so if you would like to get involved in some way or can recommend our Charity to others, we would be most grateful.
Thanks so much for caring! |
